Halloween Parade Little Five Points, Atlanta GA. 10.16.2010

Last Saturday I attended my first Halloween Parade from Little Five Points. I can say it was quite entertaining to see so many different disguises. The place was packed, but really like packed. We almost couldn't cross the street to go and see Blair Crimmins and the Hookers play on the back of Star Bar. I like the music from that band. Later on we tried to move with all the people to a better spot to see the parade which was about to start. There were so many people that it was pretty difficult to find a good spot where I could shoot. When the parade started it was amazing to see different disguises with cool ideas. There were a few that really caught my attention like the Baby Charros, the box Superheores, the Mortal Kombat cast, the creepy girl with weird eyes and a baby (she was really creepy), the old naked flasher, some pirates from the Caribbean, a float filled with drunk college toga kids and a high sex prision cage. Also what caught my attention is that I saw a lot of girls dressed like the Day of the Dead in Mexico. El Día de los Muertos is something really important in Mexico and its good to see that it is present in the American culture. Back in Mexico we also do Halloween.

I wish I could have done better with the camera but it was difficult with so many people. There were a lot of photographers so I guess there will be plenty of images somewhere. 

I have to say that the best float music wise was the one that had Star Bar. There were these kids playing really cool music. I think I've seen them live somewhere and they had it going on. Also there was a float that had some really young kids playing amazingly good. It was good to see this part of town with so many different ideas and costumes for Halloween. What I can think of is that if you want to have an awesome Halloween this 31st Little Five is the place to be.
