Ad Campaign Review: Versace Fall 2010

I never thought I would be a fan of the Versace ad campaigns. In the past it was tacky, trashy and those logos over the place were horrible. It was like underground italian meets colors and cheesiness all the way. But in the past few years seems to me that something really cool happened inside the company. They say that Donatella's daughter is giving her opinion on everything and she is really young. The result of all the changes inside the company are reflecting towards their communication. Even on their fashion shows they're having the best songs played in a really cool mix. Specially in Menswear.

This ad campaign shot by Mario Testino is really simple and ultra cool. They said that everything had to do on the casting and the attitude of the models. The clothes are phenomenal and as someone said that the price of the clothes has reached up so high that the company is duplicating its earnings.  What I really like is to see the rebirth of a brand. I've seen that in the past with a lot corporate imaging. Specially with the whole ordeal for the Gap logo, it seems to me that the power image makers are not old people giving their opinion on things. The new image makers are cool kids that haven't even reached 25.  Well as they say fashion is cruel and will always be young.
