The design world was in shock to know that Kate Spade had committed suicide in June 2018. What goes through the mind of someone that pays close attention to detail, someone that has a very clear concept of her work and how she presents it?
We honestly don't know except that in her right mind she was clearly what an artist represents. Kate Spade INC has belonged to the beloved brand Coach for more than a decade now. Kate had retired from designing and was focusing on her family. A true American genius will be missed for years to come.
Hopefully the brand lives on and shows a clear evolution as it has casted for their latest campaigns the young and talented starlets of Hollywood and a new Japanese ambassador that defies and proves a new beauty in the world.
Kate Spade's vocabulary is quite simple and full of color. The brand puts together so many elements but makes it simple in a very particular way. It's clear that there is an incredible art direction in everything the company does. From visuals to Direct Consumer products.
