Looking back: Fashion Icon: The power and influence of Graphic Design.
It was back in 2003 that I found about the existence of this book. It was a gift from my brother that by that time already knew how much I was into fashion ad campaigns. I borrowed from my brother in this last trip to Los Angeles. This book provides a lot of information on how ad agencies and in house agencies work to create fashion advertising campaigns. Creatives, photographers and graphic designers are interviewed on how they create ads working for international brands.
Here is a photo I took that features a lot of examples of DKNY and Donna Karan. The book has become like gold between my brother and I that find intriguing on how they can come up with amazing images and simple concepts. A really good buy if you are interested in this type of publications. Not sure if there is a revised version of the book, but would be awesome if the authors would do it. You can still get in on Amazon.com for a really cheap price. It would be good if the established brands would look back a little into this book. They would see that an image and simple graphic design can sell more if well executed and of course a good creative direction.
